Carmen Gonzalez

Owner/Designer

Carmen started her career in floral design in 1995. She began assisting in various floral shops, learning and experimenting with design very early on. It didn’t take her long to hone her craft and pursue her own business endeavors. In 2001, she launched Carmen’s Flowers out of her home to chase her own brand while also being able to be around her children. Ever since then she has passionately serviced a still rapidly growing number of clients throughout the entire Tampa Bay area. Her eye for tasteful and elegant, yet innovative and elaborate floral decor has earned her a reputable name in South Tampa. While her primary expertise lies in wedding design, a large chunk of her business is still dedicated to home design, home decorating, and large parties/events. Carmen has lived in South Tampa with her husband, Gil, for almost thirty years where they raised three children alongside her business.

Alanna Jacobson

Business manager

Alanna Jacobson is Carmen’s eldest daughter, who joined the business in 2023. Alanna grew up around the business in Tampa, Florida. After attending and graduating from the University of Florida with an economics degree in 2017, she moved to Nashville, TN to begin her career in financial services. She spent five years gaining extensive experience and knowledge from large financial firms like Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and Raymond James and Associates. After working alongside her mother for her own wedding in February of 2023, she made the decision to leave the finance industry and to transfer her business knowledge to support and expand her mom’s rebranded business, c a r m e n. Alanna is still located in Nashville, TN and works alongside Carmen and her clients virtually. She lives with her husband, Cavin, and their three pets, working as a dance teacher alongside managing the business.
